Cogentes Privacy Statement



Cogentes is committed to protecting your privacy and to developing technology that gives you an informative, efficient and secure online experience. You can visit most of our site without providing any personal information. On occasion, we ask for and collect information in order to provide services that you request. This statement of privacy explains the Cogtentes data collection policy and data use in those situations. Please read our complete privacy statement.

What type of information does Cogentes collect?

On certain  web pages, Cogentes collects contact information or information regarding business needs, from clients or potential clients and partners. On other selcted  web pages, Cogentes collects personal information and resumes from candidates for employment, which is used by Cogentes’ recruiting staff. Cogentes does NOT collect personal information on Cogentes web pages unless you choose to provide personal information to Cogentes.   

Collecting your Personal Information

When we need information that personally identifies you or allows us to contact you, we will ask you for it.  You may choose to provide us personal information that may be needed to correspond with you, such as your name and address or your email address. It is our intent to inform you how we will use such information before or as we collect it from you.

Security of your Personal Information

Cogentes uses reasonable commercial efforts to protect the security of your personal information and to honor your choices for its intended use. We also use commercially reasonable efforts to protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

When you provide us with personal information, Cogentes will not intentionally share that information with third parties or outside the company without your permission. It will be used only for the purposes stated. Inside the company, data is stored in password-controlled servers with limited access. Your information may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country where Cogentes, its subsidiaries, affiliates or agents are either located or store its hardware.

Protection of Children’s Personal Information

The Cogentes site does not publish content that is targeted to children, and never intentionally requests information from children.

Tracking Technology

To ensure we are publishing content that customers need and want, Cogentes collects aggregated site-visitation statistics. We do not track individuals’ use of the site.  Specific sections of the Cogentes website may at times utilize cookies or web beacons.

When someone visits the site, a cookie may be offered to the visitor’s machine (if the visitor accepts cookies) or may be read if the visitor has visited the site previously.

Web beacons, also known as clear gif technology, or action tags, may be used to assist in delivering the cookie. This technology tells us how many visitors clicked on key elements (such as links or graphics) on a Cogentes web page. We do not use this technology to access your personally identifiable information on Cogentes; it is a tool we use to compile aggregated statistics about Cogentes web site usage. We do not intentionally share tracking information outside of Cogentes, and do not allow other companies to place clear gifs on our sites.

If you choose to not have your browser accept cookies from the Cogentes web site, you still will be able to view the text on those pages. However, you will not experience a personalized visit for those sections using that technology.

Release & Limitation of Liability

While Cogentes uses commercially reasonable efforts to protect the information and data solicited and stored, Cogentes nevertheless, cannot guarantee such efforts will be successful and therefore, Cogentes makes no warranties regarding the use of the web site and the safety, security and integrity of the information and data collected and stored. COGENTES HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

By accessing the Cogentes web site, you release Cogentes from any and all claims, causes of action and/or liability related in any way to the web site under any legal theory. IN NO EVENT WILL COGENTES BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, OR SPECIAL DAMAGES. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the total cumulative liability for Cogentes for any claim, cause of action and/or liability shall not exceed ten dollars ($10.00).

Changes to this Statement

Cogentes occasionally will update this privacy statement.  When we do, we will also revise the “last updated” date at the bottom of the privacy statement.
