Information Technology and Services Industry
Chief Executive Officer
Silicon Valley, CA
Bradley is a founding partner and the CEO of Cogentes. He has over 20 years of experience delivering business value for Benefits, Human Resources, Payroll, and Financial services-related systems. He is a versatile, hands-on executive, with tremendous knowledge of Enterprise Architecture, Internet technologies, large-scale transactions processing, and B2B integration. In addition, he has a “down to earth” ability to develop, motivate, and retain outstanding talent that also bears proven track records of success.
He has served variously as an engineer and systems architect, plus executive positions in sales, marketing, and engineering for product and service entities ranging from pre-IPO startups to public companies in the Fortune 500. These include Ceridian, Concur Technologies, and Litton/PRC (now a unit of Northrop Grumman Defense Systems) He combines business acumen with skills in organizational development, global readiness, regulatory compliance, systems integration, data management, plus multi-tier and multi-system architectures.
As Vice President, Systems Engineering for Ceridian from 2002-2006, Bradley founded Ceridian’s IT Enterprise Architecture organization. He defined the mission, structure, and role of the organization, while personally authoring or substantially contributing technology and systems architecture standards content.
Key accomplishments include:
- Consulted with business unit executive leaders to formulate combined business and technology strategy, implemented technology governance and regulatory compliance processes
- Developed EA Director, Management, and Architect staff role profiles; recruited a staff of 22 senior IT systems engineers/architects; and managed an architecture budget averaging approximately $5 million annually - with influence over an annual R&D and IT Operations budget exceeding $70 million
- Implemented the first enterprise level standard Systems Development Life-Cycle process (SDLC) at Ceridian; devised and implemented the first development tools standards; and managed the implementation/operation of centralized tool services – improving capability while reducing cost for both U.S and international divisions
- Provided IT operations services and technology due diligence services for M&A activities resulting in multi-million dollar cost savings, plus direct architectural consulting to major product and infrastructure R&D programs
Through the Internet boom of the late 90’s, Bradley served with Seeker Software - a startup company delivering one of the first web-based HR/Payroll/Benefits applications - later acquired by Concur Technologies. First as Director for Seeker and eventually as Vice President for Concur, he made substantial contributions to product vision, sales, marketing, and engineering throughout his tenure.
Key accomplishments include:
- Produced an E-HR product strategy and delivered XML-based publish and subscribe integration, multi-lingual presentation, and global-ready application capabilities in anticipation of market demand from U.S. multinational customers
- Completed a successful program to eliminate product instability in high volume production settings and improve product performance by over 400%
- Pioneered delivery of what are now called “webinars” to significantly reduce sales and marketing costs, while dramatically expanding the reach to prospective clients
In addition to his commercial background, Bradley gained valuable experience with complex systems early in his career while working on U. S. Department of Defense (DoD) programs for Litton/PRC. Throughout his 10+ years in the defense industry, he held positions of increasing responsibility in the development and deployment of large-scale computer systems, including tactical planning systems, indications and warning systems, and other advanced software systems for the U.S. intelligence community - derivatives of which are still in operation today.
Key accomplishments include:
- Program Managed a $30 million, multi-year U.S Air Force intelligence data handling system from design through operational deployment and subsequent adoption as a DoD standard system
- Designed and developed some of the first GUI-based, multi-tier intelligence applications for the U.S. Air Force, at a time when most applications operated on mainframe monochrome “green screens.”
- Co-developed a fault-tolerant network protocol to deliver reliable services over low-bandwidth military wide-area networks
- Designed change management software and processes that contributed to level III certification under the Software Engineering Institute’s Capability Maturity Model
Bradley graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Computer Science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
