David is the Executive Vice President for Sales and Business Development with Cogentes. He has over 15 years of experience in IT and the consulting field, building professional services and technical solutions practices within multiple organizations. Well versed in Server & Storage systems, Consolidation and Virtualization efforts as well as Business Continuance, Availability and Disaster Recovery Planning combined with his expertise in helping organizations maximize their business return on technology investment he is a perfect fit for Cogentes.
As Vice President of Infrastructure Solutions, at MTI Technology Corporation, David was responsible for planning, managing and growing the infrastructure solutions line of business. Following the acquisition of Collective Technologies, under David’s guidance, the initial revenue growth of this line of business was a sustained 20% over a six month period and he developed and managed four separate professional services practices: Microsoft Technologies; HPC & Open Systems; Consolidation and Virtualization and Networking and Security, with increasing project gross margin attainment. David was then responsible for leading a successful companywide initiative to develop a sales and sales overlay team focused on driving Microsoft Solutions and Services from marketing through to deal closing that over three quarters created a total pipeline of over $8m; and closed business of $2.4m in the second full quarter of operation.
While at Collective Technologies (later acquired by MTI), as Vice President, David had overall responsibility for planning, managing and growing the infrastructure solutions line of business. While at Collective Technologies, revenue increased five fold in this line of business in a 3 year time period. Prior to this role at Collective Technologies, David was the project executive for Dell and was also their Director of Business Development. During this time period the overall growth of new business revenue increased tenfold from $200,000 to $2m a quarter and accounted for deeper relationships and programmatic initiatives of great value to Collective Technologies.
Prior to this, David was the Director of Information Systems at Justice Resource Institute, Health Division in Boston where he was responsible for an internet and intranet network infrastructure as well as an IT operational center to support 50 interconnected local area networks and over 1000 users at healthcare organizations across the state of Massachusetts.
David holds a Master’s Degree in Philosophy as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy with a concentration in Mathematics and Psychology both from University College in Dublin, Ireland. In addition, David participated in Doctoral studies towards his PhD in Philosophy at Boston College.
