Tom is a founding partner and the President of Cogentes. He has over 20 years of experience delivering technical solutions for Benefits, Human Resources, Payroll, Government and Power Utility organizations, small and large; public and private; to help them attain their business goals. His warm personality, optimistic nature as well as his “can do” attitude affects all who come in contact with him. He is a hands-on executive who is highly skilled in software development processes and methodology, solutions and enterprise architecture, systems integration and large scale transaction processing systems.

As Manager of Enterprise Architecture for Ceridian Corporation, Tom was responsible for helping to define technology strategy, technology roadmaps and also overseeing the technical integrity of all major software development initiatives. He has led architecture teams, software development organizations, and technology evangelists as well as having been responsible for architecting some of the largest and most successful solutions ever deployed at Ceridian. As a founding principal in the architecture discipline at Ceridian, Tom helped move forward the practice of architecture and built a formal Solutions Architecture group to oversee that discipline. He had complete responsibility for hiring and training the team as well as implementing the solutions architect discipline in the various development groups. During his tenure, Tom received process characterization and improvement training using techniques from Six Sigma, and attained his White and Yellow Belts.

Key Accomplishments:

Prior to Ceridian, Tom was an Enterprise Architect for Extreme Logic, one of North America's premier solution providers specializing in enterprise architecture efforts. During his tenure at Extreme Logic, Tom worked with various government organizations and Fortune 500 companies as well as mid-size organizations on various multi-million dollar projects. Tom was also instrumental in the sales and recruiting processes at Extreme Logic, helping to obtain new engagements and providing technical interviews for new employee candidates.

Key Accomplishments:

Tom has spent much of his career in the power utility industry providing engineering expertise and developing software to assist in the planning of power line construction, power engineering and power utility projects. In this industry, he has gained significant experience in logistics, safety policy, training and monitoring, contract negotiation aspects with a specific focus on information flow throughout organizations.

Tom holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science as well as a study focus in Electrical Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, GA, and has completed courses in Electrical Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA.
